Does New Oak Flooring Have Odor

I live in the burbs so i do not have hardwoods on property or a woodlot to cut from so when oak is available you go get it because it will not last.

Does new oak flooring have odor.

At times i would wake up during the night and would notice the odor. New wood furniture brings with it a new wood smell initially the smell of new wood furniture is appealing but it soon gets old and intrusive. I would get a couple of those. Thanks guys for all the feedback.
